New machines…

When I arrived at Swanborough after dropping Robert at his rugby I was at first a little worried as no one else was there, the question then is whether I was in the wrong place, or if the wind was too strong, but it felt fine to me so I rigged…

Later a student of John’s who walked up to takeoff with his girlfriend, much like I did once with Fergus. While we were chatting and I was getting ready he told me John had sorted him out with a WW Eagle which made me smile. Lucky he was there to help to wire me off.

I flew for a while at the usual 2 or 300ft above untill I found a thermal that lifted me first to 1700ft above then to 2000ft above – amazing – bloody amazing – I loved it!, the glider felt so a part of the air it was great I am really happy. When I was climbing I could see Ozzie, Dan and Chris all arriving, it was really nice to look down on them as they were rigging knowing how it would feel to see how good the air was. However I had to remain conscious that I had promised to be home in time for a 3pm lunch so I landed, a nice floaty landing just where I wanted it…
