A great looking day with amazing lapse rate charts and the promise to be epic. I even got ready early, arranging with Robert to be prepared to be picked up from school at 09:00 so I was on for a pre 10am start. I got there ok and was rigged ok but talked a little too much and faffed missing the good early air.
From launch to landing I only felt sink or zeros with the exception of one climb, a climb I should have committed too, at least to the back of the landing field. It was my only chance and after I managed to hang on for a little while, but in the end an excursion out front to find lift maybe off Swanborough village did not work and spent all my height. I could have committed to that earlier climb, it should not have even been a choice.
Good things: the glider flew straight handled sweetly giving me confidence to scratch, it felt great again after last times rigging error.
My landing however was utter crap, lucky me I didn’t bend anything.
